MyGolfSpy Tested 42 Drivers. Here's What a Fitter Takes From It.

If you've never read one of MyGolfSpy's driver tests, you should. For their Best Drivers of 2026 for Mid Swing Speeds, they put 42 drivers through 35 testers and more than 20,000 shots on a GC Quad. That's a lot more data than a Saturday demo day, and it's the kind of homework most of us will never do ourselves.

The "mid swing speed" group covers 90–105 mph, which is where most everyday golfers live. It's also most of the players we see in the fitting bay, so we paid close attention.

What jumped out

The TaylorMade Qi4D came out on top, and what drove it was accuracy more than distance. That's a good sign. For most of us, the extra ten yards matter a lot less than hitting it in the fairway more often.

The result we liked most was the Tour Edge Exotics Max. It finished right alongside the big names and scored best of anything in the test for accuracy and forgiveness, at about $150 less than the winner. It wasn't the longest driver in the test, but if your miss costs you more strokes than your distance does, that's a trade worth thinking about.

We'd also point out the Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond. It's one of the best all-round performers in the test, but it also produced the lowest spin. For someone who already hits a low, low-spin ball, that can mean shots falling out of the air. A driver that tops a chart isn't automatically a good fit for your swing.

What a chart can't tell you

MyGolfSpy is clear that these are averages across a lot of golfers. You're one golfer. Two players with the same swing speed can need completely different heads, lofts and shafts depending on how they deliver the club. Their test also found that shaft quality varies a lot from brand to brand, and we see the same thing when we fit. The right shaft in a middle-of-the-list head often beats the wrong shaft in the winner.

So use the list to narrow down your options, then get on a launch monitor and let your own numbers decide.

We carry all of the brands mentioned at Tour Truck Golf, and we fit drivers at Genuine Golf. Read MyGolfSpy's full breakdown here. It's worth your time.
